WHAT GOES ON THOSE EMPTY WALLS?
An interior project involves hundreds of decisions, and by the time the furniture, finishes, and lighting have been resolved, the art can still be waiting somewhere near the bottom of the list. Then the question arrives: What should go there? Finding the answer isn’t always as simple as it sounds. Just a single painting can mean hours spent researching artists and galleries, comparing dimensions and prices, considering framing, and arranging delivery and installation. And, of course, it still has to feel completely right for the room. Suddenly, the finishing touch has become another project in itself. This is where I can help.

I work with designers, developers and private clients to resolve artwork as thoughtfully as every other element in the room.
This might mean finding an existing work, commissioning something new, determining the right scale and position, or coordinating the framing, lighting, delivery, and installation. I can take responsibility for the entire process or simply help with the parts that require an experienced eye. For designers and developers, my role is to support the vision already established for the interior. For private clients, it’s to help turn instinct and personal taste into confident decisions.
The room is yours. My job is to help the art belong there.
YOUR VISION COMES FIRST
Every interior holds a language of its own. Before suggesting artwork, I begin by understanding the atmosphere the designer is creating, the priorities of the wider project, and the wishes of the people who will live in the space. Artwork can shape a room in very different ways. Sometimes it calls for a work that holds your attention from the moment you enter. Sometimes the art should sit quietly within the architecture and support the wider vision. Both approaches work. I don’t arrive with a fixed aesthetic or assume that the answer must be one of my paintings. It may be an existing original, a new commission, photography, sculpture or a work by another artist. The aim is to make the space truly exceptional, and often this means making it more of what it already is.

Whether the project involves one difficult wall or an entire property, the aim is simple: fewer loose ends for the project team and greater confidence for the client.
SEE IT BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Choosing artwork from a photograph or viewing it in isolation leaves one important question unanswered: What will it actually do to the room? Digital placement studies allow artwork to be considered within the interior before anything is purchased, commissioned or installed. Scale, position, framing and the relationship between the work and its surroundings can all be explored, compared and refined.
BE AS INVOLVED AS YOU WANT TO BE
Every project team works differently, and every project requires a different level of involvement. I can remain behind the scenes, work alongside you, or take the art conversation directly to the client once the overall direction has been established. You retain control of the interior and the client relationship. I adapt to the role that makes the project easier.
BEHIND THE SCENES
I research suitable work, prepare shortlists and develop placement studies for you to present within your existing client relationship.
WORKING TOGETHER
We develop the direction collaboratively, compare possibilities and review the strongest options with the client as part of the wider design process.
DIRECT TO CLIENT
Once you have established the vision for the interior, you can introduce me to the client and I can manage the artwork discussions and practical details while keeping you informed.
A LIFE IN ART
I’ve spent more than three decades making art and working in and around interiors. I grew up with design through my father, an interior designer, and went on to create paintings, murals and commissioned work for private and commercial spaces.
That experience taught me to see artwork not only as an object in its own right, but as something that changes the balance, rhythm and atmosphere of the space around it.
Today I bring that eye to designers, developers and private clients who want thoughtful, practical help with art, without the unnecessary jargon or ceremony that can so often surround it.
