WOMAN IN SARDEGNA
Oil on canvas | 198 × 163 cm
“This happened.”
In Woman in Sardegna, Cavilla places a reclining woman and a child beside the sea, their warm, earthy tones set against pale sand and a broad band of blue water. The woman rests on a green mat while the child bends over a small moth in the shade nearby. Bold contours and textured colour give the figures a substantial presence, while the open beach and distant headland lend the scene a quiet sense of space.
