In Thinking Woman, Cavilla brings a cool turquoise face into close view, the chin resting lightly on gathered hands. Swept-back blue hair and a bright green garment form broad areas of colour against the rust-red and orange background. Small pink lips punctuate the textured surface, while the sideways gaze gives the familiar contemplative pose an alert, questioning quality. Curving lines in the hair, hands and shoulder lend a gentle rhythm to the stillness of the figure.
